I have found this site to be very helpful in my quest for information regarding bladder cancer. I was able top find information from both a medical/statistical standpoint and from the patient's perspective.

Thank you so much for providing such an important resource for me while I am going through a difficult time.

Special thanks to the individuals that have been so very kind to share their personal experiences with me.

I am posting my journal on my Bye Bye Bladder blog . I invite you to visit.

Trying To Survive Chemo--HELP!

Posted by: Colleen in Untagged  on

My name is Colleen, I am 50,  and I have been diagnosed with high grade invasive bladder cander.  My first symptom was that I was having a hard time urinating.  An ultrasound indicated I had a mass in my bladder.  They removed it, but it was superficial.  I had one round of BCG, but when they did a cystoscopy, they found another tumor.  This time it was the diagnosis above.  I just recently stumbled on to this blog sight, and I think it will help me survive all that I will have to go through.  Before I have my bladder removed, and, (hopefully), get a neobladder, I am getting 4 rounds of

Question?

Hi Everyone, this is Sandy, and I have a question.  Has any of you filed for SSI after being diagnoised with BC?  I have no health insurance plus the fact that I have been very weak since  BCG.  Please let me know your circumstances.  Thank

Hi my name is Sharon I was dignosied with Bladder Cancer Dec 2003 finally after a year of going to Dr,s whom seem to think I was crazy. I went thru 2 BCG treatments and it seem to go into remission then in Jan of 2008 came back this time with a vegance. The Dr had me to another round of BCG and it didn't seem to help, so now he has passed me on the another Dr .

So I guess my questions is the new Dr has scheduled me to have my bladder replaced with the Neo-Bladder and gave me this web site to look at. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 4th. After reading the blogs my worry is I don't see where

Hi,

My name is Susan, i'm 50 yrs old.

6 months ago I had a Neurourectomy following that 6 wks ago I had my first Turb. The result of this was they removed another 17 tiny tumors.

Next wk I am starting a 6 week course of BCG. I have researched as much as the next person on my diagnosis but I have yet to meet anyone who has been diagnosed with something similar, and would appreciate any comments or advice as I am (to be brutally honest) absolutely terrified!

Thanx

I posted this on my ABLCS blog and had several people tell me I should post it here to.  So for what it's worth here's my thoughts on this subject.

When I was first told that my bladder had to come out I asked about my options. It was then I felt like I had walked onto the set of Let's Make a Deal. Behind these curtains we have an external bag, an internal bag with abdominal stoma, or a new bladder that will work mostly like the old. No brainer I thought take curtain number three. I will add my vanity had a lot to do with it, I am only 38.

Usually when I am faced with something I like to know

Dandelions or TCC

First and foremost, thank you all so much for sharing your BC experiences with me.  Finding this site has helped me so much to not feel so alone.  Although we are not suffering in the same ways, we are all feeling the loss of control of our lives.

I am a 62-year-old female and smoked at least one-pack-a-day for nearly 45 years.  I had finally quit for the last time in Feb. 2006, thanks to Chantix.  I had never heard of bladder cancer from smoking, so I was truly shocked.  My story begins several years ago with uncontrolled urgency, embarrassing experiences of

Heart Transplant Recipent & Bladder Cancer Survivor

Posted by: joephine in Untagged  on

I am a 51 year old male, who received a heart Transplant 10 years ago, due to viral Cardiac Myopathy. I could spend two hours telling you about that miracle, but this webpage is about Bladder Cancer and so I will tell you the rest of the miracle!!

May of 2007, I had a lot of blood in my urine. Because of my transplant I  immediatly went to ER Room. I was told that I had a kidney stone, but that I was to follow up with a urologist the next day. The urologist told me after looking at the cat scan that the bleed was not from a kidney stone. When I asked what would cause blood in my urine, she
