Wendy,

I don't know if I've missed it somewhere but I was wondering how your sister is doing.  You said she was diagnosed in 1998.  How is she doing today?  Thanks!

My story of Bladder Cancer

Posted by: Rosemary in bladder cancer on

I heard a really good story of a bladder cancer outcome today and wanted to share it here.

When I was diagnosed last January, a childhood friend of mine called me and told me about her brother who had Bladder Cancer 10 years ago.  She said that the Doctor told him that he had the largest tumor he had ever seen.  She told me that the cancer had never come back.

By chance, he called the office today, and I briefly spoke with him and his wife.  He had his 10 year check up and CANCER FREE.  His wife told me that the doctor told him that he wouldn't have given him a nickel for his chances of 10 year

Hello everyone, and thank you again for your encouraging words and for sharing your own stories.

I had my post TURBT consult yesterday to go over the pathology report. Surprisingly decent results:

1 - The tumor, my doc said, was quite small and papillary, and there was no CIS.
2 - The tumor was Ta again - noninvasive.
3 - The grade of the cancer was G1, which surprised me. But the doc said it was, moreover, at the low range even of that.
4 - The doc said that, all in all, this instance can be considered to not be a meaningful recurrence.

He, as a result, has put me on the standard 3-month

My Bladder Cancer Journey Blog

Posted by: Ferdi1 in bladder cancer on

I was diagnosed in July of 2006 and have had two TURBT and I've just finished 6 BCG instillations.  I'm waiting until March 2007 when I'll have biopsies and results.

After the first operation I sent out e-mails to my friends and one of them suggested that I start putting these messages and thoughts into a blog.  Rather than copy all that into the bladder café forum storyboards, may I invite you to drop in and see the blog at some time?  In certain places it is not for the squeamish and in other places I have no doubt it is pretty boring and mundane stuff.  I have tried throughout to say what

My Story

Posted by: Jeff in BCG on

November I had my 3 week BCG maintenance course and this had to be a lot worse than the 6 I had earlier this year. After the 2nd one I got a severe fever, symptons not unlike tuberculosis and that was no fun for a couple of days. Peed a lot more blood than normal and for longer and then went a few weeks with the urgent need to rush to the toilet. Even now it hits me out of the blue and I have to run but it is improving each day. I am due for another P&P around January and remain confident I am on top of this.

Cheers to everyone and may you all have the best Xmas ever.

Jeff
