Right posterior wall bladder tumor

In 1998, my Dad Chester at age 71 was diagnosed with an elevated PSA level. The Urologist at Hackensack University Medical Center, which he was sent to for consultation, told him he was a prime candidate for prostate cancer. The recommendation was to receive Lupron injections and undergo radiation treatments. Additionally upon further recommendation, my Dad chose radiation seed implants to treat the spread of this cancer.

In July- August of this year, he began passing blood in his urine. He returned to the same Urologist who performed the seed implant for

Papillary Transitional Cell Carcenoma stage I/II

I was a smoker until I heard the words, "we found something in your bladder, and it was cancer". I quit right then. I was having a scope of my bladder to remove a stuck kidney stone that was discovered in an x-ray follow up to the infected prostate

The Prostate is fine; one of my three kidney stones was removed, along with the tumor. I under went six weeks of BCG therapy. I am having another scope this October. I have been handling the whole thing pretty well, but I now have what feels like Arthritis in several of my joints. I am trying to

CIS, not into bladder wall yet.

March 31, 2003. "It's back.............". I thought I was doing so well!! Felt better than I've felt in the past 12 months. BUT, last cysto (10 days ago) revealed BCG treatments were "not working" per doc. So, I have an appt. with Dr. Smith at Vanderbilt next Monday, 4/6/03. My "local doc" who has administered the BCG treatments, off and on for past 12 months, says it's time to review my options. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS????? My thoughts, today, are that if they remove the bladder, and I have to wear that @#*@ bag, I'd just as soon let the cancer take over.

Stage III Bladder Cancer

Stage III Bladder Cancer

Intermittent hematuria started some 3 years ago. A urologist told the referring GP that it was due to some IVC problem, nothing to worry about (even though ultrasound had registered a spot). Last Christmas I started hemorrhageing. A urologist (another one) admitted me as an emergency. At first it appeared to be transitional carcinoma, but the diagnosis was later changed to a stage III invasive tumour. A CT scan showed up no spread, so the urologist suggested cystectomy, probably leading to a Studer pouch neobladder. After much soul searching (and counsel from my

first TUR on 8-2-02  High grade urothelial carcinoma, invasive into the muscularis propria, arising in association with in situ carcinoma.

first TUR done 8-2-02 after hemmorragic bleeding 2 days earlier passing huge clots (first sign of anything wrong) pathology showed invasion.  Went to Memorial Sloan Kettering for a second opinion with a leading oncologist/urologist...he took a larger slice and the path came back.."flat and papillary, high grade. No invasion is seen"...recommendation that my bladder come out.  I was seen as a candidate for the neo-bladder...but having finally been able to

Advanced bladder cancer

My name is Geoff I am 51 and live in Birmingham, England.
I have just found the messages on the Cancer Web Cafe.
I started passing blood in my urine about the 20th June. I do not smoke and never had any serious illness. However I have had diesel fuel spashed over my skin on numerous occasions!!!!!!!! in the army. only other chemicals I have come into regular contact with are Thinners vapour.

I went straight to my doctor (within the hour) he made arrangements for x-ray and scan at the local hospital. When my appointment came it had a wait of 8 weeks for the x-ray and

Transitional Cell Carcinoma, stage III/III, into the muscle

I am 49, a smoker (until now that is), a consumer of mass quantities of Diet Coke (that's changed now) and don't eat veggies (trying to change). Been around my share of chemicals used in cleaning car and jet engines.

I too started out with blood in my urine, very plainly seen with the naked eye. Stopped after two trips to the bathroom and didn't come back for another 3 weeks or so. Then would show one or two times, then stop. Finally went to my internal specialist, who hinted that since I had blood in my urine and no pain, I

superficial papillomas(2), low grade

This is Joe's daughter, Marie; I'm writing his story as an encouragement to all, and am writing it myself ONLY because he is 97 years old, and his vision is not good due to macular degeneration. He is alive and well, seven years after his initial diagnosis!

In March of 1995, he had the classic hematuria symptom, and went to a urologist immediately for a consultation. Cystoscopy revealed two small papillomae, both cleanly excised. At the time, Joe was three months short of his 90th birthday. He stuck with the usual follow-up schedule of

Bladder Cancer--Papilloma Tumors Stage 3 of 4. Carcinoma in situ (CIS) of the bladder lining.

Diagnosed in Feb 2001. Went thru 3 courses of BCG treatment and several cystoscopies as same day surgeries in hospital. After 18 months no progress made with either the CIS or tumors and doctors have fear especially of the CIS spreading. Scheduled for Indiana Pouch Surgery on August 14,

I had a rare bladder tumor cancer. I don't know how to spell the name of the tumor.

In 1975 I had bladder cancer,I was 20 years old. They did a colon conduit. My doctors were wonderful. After 25 years I had two parastomal hernias and they did a Indiana Pouch which I love. The freedom is great.I still have trouble with leaking but I am hoping to fine out why this is still going on after a year.
These sites are so helpful
