TCC of renal pelvis, tumors in bladder, left ureter, left kidney.  Kidney non-functioning, kidney/ureter removed 10/18/99. Carboplatin/taxol 12/99.

Hello, my name is Sara, and I joined WebCafe in September 1999 when my mother, Sally (62 years old), was diagnosed with bladder cancer in her bladder and left kidney.

She became aware of the disease when she experienced large amounts of blood and clotting in her urine. Later, she connected the cancer to an episode of pain she had 2/99 and a severe weight loss in the interim.

Mom's bladder tumor was removed during a biopsy in early October.  This

December 20, 2000

This story was originally written as a letter to another patient of Dr. Mark Schoenberg, our surgeon for our common bladder cancer and successful neo-bladder replacement

I too had a successful bladder replacement (neo-bladder) performed by Mark Schoenberg, M.D, Director of Urologic Oncology, Associate Professor of Urology & Oncology at the Brady Urological Institute, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. I will try to relate some of my experiences. First let me congratulate you on passing your five-year mark; I am celebrating my five-month mark, having had my cancerous

Grade IV, invasive, Radical Cystectomy, Cancer got out of bladder. shocked the doctor, survived for almost 5 years and going simi strong.

June 8th, 2001

In July 2000, I woke up one morning and pee'ed blood. I went to the VA Hospital in Denver, and was told that they suspected cancer. I had a IVP test, that showed a growth on the left side of my bladder. In August 2000 I had a cystoscope, it showed two tumors in my bladder. In August 2000, I had two cystoscope surgeries, three weeks apart. I was told that I had grade 3 bladder cancer. In November and December 2000, I got six BCG treatments

Bladder Cancer T1,Grade II

February 1999, noticed urine was dark in color...thought it was due to too much coffee, or not drinking enough water...just ignored it. Noticed it several times more and didn't think too much about it.

In October, when I went to my internist for my annual physical the urine was dark in the morning, and I happened to mention it to her.

The next thing I knew I was in the lab for a urine specimen...the urine was dark brown! I was horrified. I was scheduled for a pelvic ultrasound the next day, and an appointment with a urologist.

Lots of tests,...then a TUR at the
