I was 52 in Nov 2006 when I first experienced visible blood in my urine. Family Dr. was quick to pass it off as an infection. A few days of antibiotics, and it was gone. No other symptoms. Interestingly, it was the 1st time I had a digital for the prostrate, and apparently it was fine.

Fast fwd. to Aug. 4th 2007. Our 2 week vacation plan was bought and paid for, my two daughters and my wife looking forward to the excursion. Then 8 hours before the 4:30AM flight , I had blood in the urine again. This time it was so red it was nearly black. Okay, should I do the guy thing and ignore it, or....

I'm just wanting to add something that I wrote to another user of this forum a little while ago. Writing the more painful (delays, bad news) parts of my story
has been hard for me.  I find it hard to do because I do think I "should have could have" been smart and assertive enough to have gotten a diagnosis before my cancer got to be the mess it has been at and since my late diagnosis. I do not like to feel stupid, disrespected, etc. any more than other folks do. I need to put part I and II (II pre-Bladder Cancer Web cafe)behind me though and to try to learn to help myself and I hope others

I heaven't posted here in awhile so I decided to update my story.  In October of 2007 I found out that I was pregnant for the fourth time (oops)!  One of the first phone calls I made was to the urologist.  I was due for a scope in Dec but he felt we should wait until I was well into my second trimester.  I just had a cysto last week.  The procedure was uncomfortable as always.  Everything looked good Thank God!  I did experience a lot of cramping after the procedure.  He asked my obstetrician to do a UA at each appointment and decided not to scope me again unless there is hematuria for the

Hello all -- My husband and I went to see my medical oncologist today.
As I gathered from reading the CT scan report, there appears to be many
lesions in my liver and nodules in my lungs. One of each are pathologcial
size. Due to some issues with comparability with past imaging, it is hard
to see if my disease is basically stable or progressing. The Dr. said
that it is quite a bit of disease, though, and concurred with my going
for a consultation over at M.D. Anderson in Houston and he is setting

Hi everyone I am trying to update my story so I am sorry ahead of time if I'm not doing it right.
  Well I have been skiing alot trying to stay in shape and waiting to go to my 6 week  check up .And guess what ? when I got there they told me it was the week before !! It's a three and ahalf hour ride to get there. God love my husband he just put his arm around me and said,"don't worry honey I'll bring you back ."

UPDATE:

Sorry I havent been around for awhile.

Ok, Dad finished his BCG back in Nov & was to wait 6 to 8 weeks for cysto & bi-op. Well this was preformed yesterday & guess what?  ::)more tumor,  ::)now waiting on path results & ct scans. They said that it would be more than likely that they will go ahead with r/c, sooner rather than later, feeling a bit low right now, :'( I said to Dad, At least there will be know looking back saying "what if" they had tried this "what if" they had done that. My GP was unavailable, so I saw one of the other doctors from her practice.  He took blood and urine samples, and though he saw discoloration, there was NO indication of blood in the urine at the time of my visit.  He consulted with a urologist, and determined that it could have been the niproxin that caused the blood (he NOT knowing the volume involved), and said we should just keep an eye on things.

During the Holidays last year (2007), I had another episode of blood in my urine.  This time, the urine was brighter orange -- nearly red.  After a visit with the same doctor, he set me up
