Thankyou all for your positive comments, we have been so happy with the results, & hope that now he can keep the cancer at bay & enjoy the rest of his life,
Thanks once again, you guys on here have been a blessing,
regards,

Dad had r/c on the 2nd of april, Operation went really well, it took a bit longer than they orig said as they decided to also take the urethra or water pipe as Dr put it, he also had to have his left urita cut down further as the cancer had advanced into it.
So he had bladder, prostate, urethra, lymp nodes (not sure how many) & a large section of left urita taken out, which they cut & sent of to path whilst he was under, news came came back still cancer, cut again, sent off, still cancer, cut more sent off, clear.
Dad seemed to recover quite well, apart from some blood pressure issues & being

UPDATE:

Sorry I havent been around for awhile.

Ok, Dad finished his BCG back in Nov & was to wait 6 to 8 weeks for cysto & bi-op. Well this was preformed yesterday & guess what?  ::)more tumor,  ::)now waiting on path results & ct scans. They said that it would be more than likely that they will go ahead with r/c, sooner rather than later, feeling a bit low right now, :'( I said to Dad, At least there will be know looking back saying "what if" they had tried this "what if" they had done that. Been there done that & after living with Bladder cancer for 17 or 18 years & having many, many tests,

Dad started his first 6 BCG treatments on Tuesday, so we will see what the next couple of months brings, they stated that they will monitor him closely & any sign that the treatment is not working, they will do R/c, I hope they know what they are doing.

were do I begin, Mum & Dad made the 3 hour journey on Monday so that dad could begin the bowel prep on Tue, Fasting from Mon night, he began the bowel prep on tue, tue came & went, up early and of to the hospital for a 7am start. My sister & I got on the road around 4am & arrived just after 7am, he hadnt gone anywhere yet so we were able to see him before he went in. They called him in & both mum & he went in. Whilst in the bed waiting the anathesist came in & said, so your in for your bi-op, mum said know I think its a little more serious than that, he said no your in for a bi-op. He then

Ok, They were very surprised to find path results come back that the muscle was clear, although they said they are extremly suspect that there may still be muscle involvment expecilly as it is in the ureta,
options given were
1. chemo & bcg. They said(the cancer could still progess whilst on chemo) & (it wont work if there is muscle involvement)
2. surgery rc ileal conduit or neo bladder
So dad has chosen to go ahead with surgery,(ileal conduit) which should take place in the next 2-4 weeks at a hospital thats about 3 hours from home.
So we are hoping that every thing goes well.

Hi All,
Thought I would update you all on the latest news on my Dad. On Monday he went in to have cysto, biopsy & what ever else they were planning on doing, after the op they called mum into the recovery to tell her that it was invasive & had spread to the muscle & they will wait on path results, but in his experiance if it is indeed what he thinks, dad will have to have his bladder removed. The cancer in the urita is low down towards the bladder, so I am not sure what will happen with the kidney that they thought he would loose????
He is hoping to come out of hospital today & will need to go

Thank you all for your kind words, He did have many tests done when his symtoms returned 2.5 years ago, dont know all med terms but this included a body scan with the dye or contrast insurted. When he seen the new specialist recently he mentioned that he should be having these tests done every 2 years. At first mum was upset that he had'nt had these scans ordered at christmas, but now she is thankful that he has had the scans now, as if he had of had them at christmas & nothing showed up, it would have been a further 2 years before these tests were preformed again. The last 2.5 years have
