Hi My name is Todd and I am 43 years old.  I was Diagnosed with Bladder Cancer December of 2005.
I had a Stage TA Superficial Non Invasive but was a Grade 2.  This was removed and I then went through 6 weeks of BCG treatments. I was lucky that I did not have any side affects from the BCG besides a little Burning when urinating after 2 hours.
March 6 I went in for my 1st 3 month check up and the DR found a little growth which he biopsied part of and burned off the rest.  The Pathology report came back and it was benign not cancer.
So that is good, but I am still trying to get used to the

My story:  I am a 67-year-old male living in Canada.  Approx. 5 or 6 years ago I started passing blood in my urine after strenuous exercise in hot weather while on vacation in Palm Springs.  The blood went away after a couple of days.  On my return home I reported this incident to my Doctor.  He said it is probably Hematuria, which can occur from exercising in hot weather.  The next year, same thing, blood for a couple of days while playing tennis in hot weather. Reported to Doctor again. The next year, the same thing!
(I know now that I should

My mom was diagnosed with stage 1 non-ivasive bladder cancer last year.

My mom was diagnosed early last year with the non-invasive stage 1 tumor on her bladder wall. She went 9 months with clean exams every three months. October 2005 she was diagnosed again with another tumor, that hadn't invaded the wall. The doctor removed that one and She did 6 weeks of BCG and went for a 6 week post treatment check-up yesterday. The doctor saw somthing on the cystoscopy and she has to go in for another biopsy next week. I don't know what to tell her anymore, the doctor doesn't know why the BCG failed and I

"Currently undergoing BCG (Lamms protocol or a derivation of) for superficial high grade disease with CIS. Made dietary and lifestyle adjustments and hoping to delay a cystectomy for a few years. When I am undergoing treatment, obviously I have discomfort and the rest of the things that folks on this site have. I am 42 and was diagnosed 14 years ago with lower grade disease (grade 1-2). I've had many, many cystoscopies, a handful of IVPs, a cat scan, some mitomycin etc.I maintain my work and try to have a normal life between treatments (I can't afford not to!).

Since above, have had

My father went to a urologist in his hometown area Burlington,NC (04/02). He had issues with blood in his urine and mild pain when urinating. After several minor surgery's from the Burlington doctor to remove the cancer cells from his bladder we finally convinced him to go to another doctor. We got him to the urology center at Duke University ( top hospital). He was assigned to a well known doctor Dr. Albala. The doctor did a biopsy on my Dad and found no sign of cancer. He was told to come back in six months for a follow-up. The follow-up came quick (03/04)

papillary tumor - carcinoma stage 2

August 2004 - Finished 6 weeks of BCG in June. Have another cystoscopy on August 30th, and maintenance treatment in the fall. I am hoping for a clean scope.

Have you ever heard of someone under 30 being diagnosed??

Had blood in the urine off and on. Never had bladder infections before but I was told by doctors that this (the blood) was a symptom of an infection. I had no other infection symptoms such as burning etc...just the bleeding. Finally, I had an ultrasound which showed a growth of some kind. I specifically asked (my GP) if it could be cancer, the
