Hi everyone, thank you for all your kindness, I took my husband back to the hospital the next day and they put the port in. I was doing pretty good then I caught the creeping crud in the hospital and ended up pretty sick.
I guess just having my own tur done and then this has left my body worn down. It is hard to keep it together when you feel so tired and sick yourself. I can,t evan walk like I do to get rid of the stress. I keep forgetting to set up my next scope . Thank you all again for  your kindness you are all in my thoughts. Rocky

Hi everyone ,thanks for the good thoughts. It is diffuse large cell b type. They are doing a pet scan and bone marrow next week to find out more about the lymphoma.
The oncologist had a fellowship in bone marrow transplantation at John Hopkins so she has to be on the ball I guess . She wants to start chemo now ! She said this is an agressive type ,but because of that it should respond to the chemo .
The hospital discharged us at 9:45 tonight and we had an hour ride home, we waited all day for a port to be put in but the surgeon couldn't get to him , so it is now 12:30 and I am very tired

Hi everyone,  Thanks for the quotes the mother t one gave me a chuckle.
It is lymphoma, now they just have to figure out what kind . The leg is really swollen and the worst part is not having the time to do any research  (because it is acute) to find out where and who is the best to treat this , at least with my b.c. I had time to figure out who was the best in my area (John Hopkins). I got to come home for a couple of hours today while my daughter sits with my husband so I will start trying to figure it all out.
The staff where he is are wonderful but the place is filthy !! They

My story of Bladder Cancer

Posted by: Rosemary in bladder cancer on

Hey all!!

I just want to report, for the record, that my terrible, horrible arthritis which upstarted 2 weeks after my 9th (10th??) BCG treatment has completely disappeared.

I haven't had a Celebrex or Ibuproffen in many, many weeks.

For those of you who saw the photo of my HUGE "sausage toe" (that is my Rheumatoligist description of the toe) well, the toe is completely back to normal size.

I had the hardest time convincing my Urologist that this arthritic reaction was caused by BCG.  All I know is that it came on like gangbusters during BCG and now, 10 months later it is completely gone. I

Just when you get the rug back under your feet it gets jerked back out!!!
My husband had a mole taken off his upper thigh , it got alittle infected so the Dr gave him antibiotics to help it. He is now in the hospital with a blood clot in his lung. The scat scan showed a tumor in his groin and enlarged lymph nodes in his body. They are saying the're pretty sure it is lymphoma. Tomorrow they will do a biopsie.
I thought it was hard to tell my kids about me , but their Daddy is their rock, he is never sick. I went to the Lord in prayer and he said , Trust Me.  he didn't say it would be fine

The first chemo is now doing its search and destroy mission and thankfully it is operating in stealth mode as I have no complaints.

My lovely neighbour and friend drove me to the hospital and stayed with me for my first round. It was advised to be accompanied the first time in case of an adverse reaction which would stop me from driving home. As I had no problems I will drive myself in the future.

As I have a new bladder the capacity to hold urine is very low and I noticed that 15 minutes before the chemo process had finished I was desperate for the loo. I started to get pain in my lower back

The adjuvant chemo:

The appointment with the chemo nurse went well and the finer points of the drugs to be used and side effects were covered in great detail. As it is a progressive treatment the side effects will increase as the treatments continue. The side effects of the treatment are varied ranging from sickness, flu like symptoms, nerve damage, hearing loss and hair loss. All of which are temporary while under the influence of these poisons they will be giving me.

After the meeting with the chemo nurse I had to get some blood drawn for my appointment with the oncologist whom will be

The last dose of this second chemo cycle was given today with a reduced dose because of low blood platelets.

Now I am entering into the rest phase for a couple of weeks before cycle three begins. This may be delayed one week because of the operation on the 20th.

Next Monday I meet up with my oncologist to get confirmation on this and to have a full blood work up to check my general health.

So that’s it for the chemo for a few weeks and now my body has a chance to recover before the next wave.

The battle goes on….

The look and see operation is provisionally booked for the 20th March and I am waiting for a confirmation letter for this date.

Apparently three days have been scheduled although the Urologist mentioned a one night stay if it is a minor repair. I guess they have to be cautious because of the chemo treatment at the moment which will extend the normal recovery.

Instead of getting my blood levels checked the day before each chemo I have been advised to arrive thirty minutes before my chemo appointment. This is much better as I now only have one trip a week to the hospital. It just means I will

The fog is lifting today thankfully and I slept really well as I only woke up to take a pee once in the night.

I feel pretty refreshed today considering the effects of the last week’s chemo on my body, mind and spirit.

I jumped into the shower and my belly requested some nourishment so I have just scoffed down a couple of cheese and cucumber sandwiches and they were great.

The plan of action today is to use this energy burst to its greatest and get out of the house and gets lots of fresh air.

It is good to be back to the land of the living…..

The battle goes
