Bladder Cancer

My name is Laura, and I am actually writing in reference to my Great Aunt. She is 95 and was just diagnosed with bladder cancer. She has decided to refuse all treatment (she currently resides in a nursing home in a very small town and does not want the discomfort, inconvenience and invasiveness that would go along with travel to a larger town more than an hour's drive away for medical attention). I am wondering what she, and those around her, can expect as a consequence of this decision. I would not dream of trying to tell her to change her mind - nor would my mother. We

Stage 1 Superficial Bladder Cancer

Originally diagnosed OCT 99 and have had 15 quarterly cystos with 14 recurrences. Have also had one six week sessin of BCG treatments in July 2001.
March 20/03 cysto reveals tumours have spread to other portions of bladder, still non invasive. Dr. has ordered further six week BCG session followed by cysto.
Have considerable confidence in Dr. and he has also offered to send me for second opinion which I haven`t done. Anyone have similar experiences with repeated recurrences and/or suggestions for further

Incomplete at this time

I am a 47 year old male. I have been a research biologist working with wildlife and wildlife diseases for about 20 years so i should know better than what I have done to date. As far as I can tell I really don't fit any "risk groups" which from my readings doesn't mean much, not a smoker (bit of grass when younger)no dyes or such but maybe a lot of formalin when I was younger from my lab work. I have been looking through this site and others for the last couple of weeks. I recently (2 weeks ago) got a surprise christmas present in the form of a suspicion of Bladder

invasive bladder cancer with G3 cell mutation.

On 20th July 2002 I had blood in my urine. 22nd August was the first attempt to find out why by a flexible cystoscopty under local anesthisia. It confirmed that I had a malignant tumour immediately after the cystoscopy. On 4th September I had and IVU Intravenous Urogram but the results were not submitted until 18th September. In the meantime, on 16th September I had a rigid cystoscopy under general anesthesia where they found that the tumour was a fairly large (1 cm?) and it was removed: transurethral resection. On 30th September I had a bone

Grade 3 cancer of bladder.

Hello,
I’m Tony Balita and will be turning 65 in December, living in Bumpass, VA and being treated at the UVA (University of Virginia Medical Center) in Charlottesville.
The urologists first informed me that I had Grade 3 (invaded the muscular wall of the bladder) on October 8, 20002.
Since then I’ve spend many hours online and at Bladder Cancer Web Café and slowly picking up all the new terminology associated with this beast.
As best that I can recall, it was about 1.5 years ago, maybe a few months longer that my first symptoms were manifest. First

diverticulum of the bladder with grade 3 cancer inside the diverticulum.

I am from Frisco, Texas and was searching for information on my bladder cancer and found your storyboard on the Web cafe Internet site. I too am having a hard time accepting my problem. I went to my local physician to have a prescription filed for my high blood pressure. During that visit I was asking a lot of questions in regard to stroke problems so his Physician’s assistant noticed I was over 50 (I am 51) and scheduled a full physical for my next visit. I had the works that day, stress test, EKG, prostrate exam,

Stage III Bladder Cancer

Stage III Bladder Cancer

Intermittent hematuria started some 3 years ago. A urologist told the referring GP that it was due to some IVC problem, nothing to worry about (even though ultrasound had registered a spot). Last Christmas I started hemorrhageing. A urologist (another one) admitted me as an emergency. At first it appeared to be transitional carcinoma, but the diagnosis was later changed to a stage III invasive tumour. A CT scan showed up no spread, so the urologist suggested cystectomy, probably leading to a Studer pouch neobladder. After much soul searching (and counsel from my

Advanced bladder cancer

My name is Geoff I am 51 and live in Birmingham, England.
I have just found the messages on the Cancer Web Cafe.
I started passing blood in my urine about the 20th June. I do not smoke and never had any serious illness. However I have had diesel fuel spashed over my skin on numerous occasions!!!!!!!! in the army. only other chemicals I have come into regular contact with are Thinners vapour.

I went straight to my doctor (within the hour) he made arrangements for x-ray and scan at the local hospital. When my appointment came it had a wait of 8 weeks for the x-ray and
