Nov. 2001 -  Polyps was the diagnosis, 2 small ones.  laser treatment
Nov. 2004 - superficial bladder cancer - laser treatment - followed by BCG regiment # 1
2005 - 2006 - recurring superficial cancer - 3 sectionings performed by Urological surgeon, BCG regiment # 2, and Interferon regiment #1.
Oct. 2006 - 4th sectioning begun and terminated (too much cancer in bladder) - I agree (reluctantly) to Cystectomy.
Nov. 2006 - Urologist decides against  surgery (sees abnormaility in lymphs) refers me to Oncologist for Chemotherapy.
Dec. 2006 - Begin heavy Chemotherapy   ( 9 hour sessions), three drugs

I got my initial path reports today from 2006, initial diagnosis.

This is what I would have to describe as "pathology whiplash".

That is where you go from Point A to Point Z too quickly for your body and mind to catch up with you.

As an epilogue to these pathologies, when I went for muscle biopsy at UNC in May 2006, my cancer was [i]"POOF[/i]"  [b]GONE[/b].  I began BCG treatments in June 2006.  No recurrances.

When I was at Chapel Hill in May for biopsy, I was told that there were two muscle biopsies performed by my Doctor that day for T1 G3 bladder cancer.  The other guy wasn't as "lucky".  He

im new on this site and reading all the stories, i have to say theres a lot of people out there living with the same thing i am. at first when i found out that i had this cancer i wasnt scared i wasnt really anything. i think i was more upset that i had to miss work so much i had a new car and no way to pay the payments or anything really. but thats when my community came in to help they did fund raisers for me, my work payed my car off. i mean they help me in a way no one has or ever will. but anyway no i really didnt have any feelings about it. i got kinda worried after i had surgery and

I asked my Doc today about these photos.  I tried to describe them and I told him about the rashy looking photos and the one that looked like a big WART.   He doesn't have a lot of humor.  But he is a good doctor.  He said, "Bladder Cancer is a tumor.  And, it looks like a tumor."

That's the best that I can do at this point.

Hello Joe and thank you for your reply.  I am glad you like the blog, I try to show as much as I can about what I am going through and hope that someone looks at it and realises that the emotions and the day-to-day are (I hope) normal and that you can get on with your life. It is the little disruptions that take some getting used to.

When I had the first operation which was only a few days after diagnosis it was graded as G3P T1 + CIS.  after the second operation with a re-resection it was CIS and I had 6 weeks BCG.  I go back in for biopsies in a little under 2 weeks time.   I am hoping for

Hello all my name is Klynn, my husband John has recurring bladder cancer, in 2004 he had a total cysectomy. He has a neobladder he did well with the surgury, had leak 2 weeks post surgury that caused a sisk to form blocking his bowel and had to have a 2nd surgury to reroute the bowel, after a month in the hospital he came home. He rebounded well and was back to work in 5 months living a happy almost normal life.   Fast forward to January of 2006..wakes up New Years morning with blood in his urine. we make an appointment with urologist and they treat him for a UTI. This goes on for 3 months,

I heard a really good story of a bladder cancer outcome today and wanted to share it here.

When I was diagnosed last January, a childhood friend of mine called me and told me about her brother who had Bladder Cancer 10 years ago.  She said that the Doctor told him that he had the largest tumor he had ever seen.  She told me that the cancer had never come back.

By chance, he called the office today, and I briefly spoke with him and his wife.  He had his 10 year check up and CANCER FREE.  His wife told me that the doctor told him that he wouldn't have given him a nickel for his chances of 10 year

I was diagnosed in July of 2006 and have had two TURBT and I've just finished 6 BCG instillations.  I'm waiting until March 2007 when I'll have biopsies and results.

After the first operation I sent out e-mails to my friends and one of them suggested that I start putting these messages and thoughts into a blog.  Rather than copy all that into the bladder café forum storyboards, may I invite you to drop in and see the blog at some time?  In certain places it is not for the squeamish and in other places I have no doubt it is pretty boring and mundane stuff.  I have tried throughout to say what
