TCC leading to Bladder Cancer... HELP!

Hi,

My name is Susan, i'm 50 yrs old.

6 months ago I had a Neurourectomy following that 6 wks ago I had my first Turb. The result of this was they removed another 17 tiny tumors.

Next wk I am starting a 6 week course of BCG. I have researched as much as the next person on my diagnosis but I have yet to meet anyone who has been diagnosed with something similar, and would appreciate any comments or advice as I am (to be brutally honest) absolutely terrified!

Today I had an appointment with my Urologist to discuss my scan results.

He was very happy with the results so far and suggested that I have a repeat CT scan in three months. This time it will be a full body scan instead of the usual torso.

Dear Forum,

The days building up to my appointment today for the results of the CT scan were very difficult although this weekend I had a feeling of peace. A feeling that everything will be ok and this gave also a feeling of calm.

Today in the waiting room of course my stomach was once again turning with nerves until my oncologist called me in.

The scan was clear which is fantastic news....nothing could be seen except a small bladder stone in my new bladder.

Dad had r/c on the 2nd of april, Operation went really well, it took a bit longer than they orig said as they decided to also take the urethra or water pipe as Dr put it, he also had to have his left urita cut down further as the cancer had advanced into it.
So he had bladder, prostate, urethra, lymp nodes (not sure how many) & a large section of left urita taken out, which they cut & sent of to path whilst he was under, news came came back still cancer, cut again, sent off, still [...]

Hi everyone, thank you all for caring. Joes lymphoma is stage two , confined to the groin area, He had his first chemo mon and is very tired , tonight he threw up for the first time, so now I guess it will be about getting into a new way of living for awhile.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Tomorrow we go back to the hospital for the first chemo treatment, they are going to keep him because they expect the tumor to die off fast and they have to make sure it doesn't ruin his kidneys. He told me to go skiing today as it was the last day of the season, I went but didn't stay long , it's like my son said whats the point.

Hi everyone, thank you for all your kindness, I took my husband back to the hospital the next day and they put the port in. I was doing pretty good then I caught the creeping crud in the hospital and ended up pretty sick.
I guess just having my own tur done and then this has left my body worn down. It is hard to keep it together when you feel so tired and sick yourself. I can,t evan walk like I do to get rid of the stress. I keep forgetting to set up my next scope . Thank you [...]

Hi everyone ,thanks for the good thoughts. It is diffuse large cell b type. They are doing a pet scan and bone marrow next week to find out more about the lymphoma.
The oncologist had a fellowship in bone marrow transplantation at John Hopkins so she has to be on the ball I guess . She wants to start chemo now ! She said this is an agressive type ,but because of that it should respond to the chemo .
The hospital discharged us at 9:45 tonight and we had an hour ride home, [...]

Hi everyone, Thanks for the quotes the mother t one gave me a chuckle.
It is lymphoma, now they just have to figure out what kind . The leg is really swollen and the worst part is not having the time to do any research (because it is acute) to find out where and who is the best to treat this , at least with my b.c. I just want to report, for the record, that my terrible, horrible arthritis which upstarted 2 weeks after my 9th (10th??) BCG treatment has completely disappeared.

I haven't had a Celebrex or Ibuproffen in many, many weeks.

For those of you who saw the photo of my HUGE "sausage toe" (that is my Rheumatoligist description of the toe) well, the toe is completely back to normal size.

Just when you get the rug back under your feet it gets jerked back out!!!
My husband had a mole taken off his upper thigh , it got alittle infected so the Dr gave him antibiotics to help it. He is now in the hospital with a blood clot in his lung. The scat scan showed a tumor in his groin and enlarged lymph nodes in his body. They are saying the're pretty sure it is lymphoma. Tomorrow they will do a biopsie.

The first chemo is now doing its search and destroy mission and thankfully it is operating in stealth mode as I have no complaints.

My lovely neighbour and friend drove me to the hospital and stayed with me for my first round. It was advised to be accompanied the first time in case of an adverse reaction which would stop me from driving home. As I had no problems I will drive myself in the future.

The adjuvant chemo:

The appointment with the chemo nurse went well and the finer points of the drugs to be used and side effects were covered in great detail. As it is a progressive treatment the side effects will increase as the treatments continue. The side effects of the treatment are varied ranging from sickness, flu like symptoms, nerve damage, hearing loss and hair loss. All of which are temporary while under the influence of these poisons they will be giving me.
