I can only say that I wish I had found this site around 6/22/06.  It’s wonderful to hear the stories of others and read through the forum links.  BC is not well known so when I found out, I truly felt alone.  Since everyone has their own tale and no two are alike, I thought I’d share mine with you.  If it deems posting, I’d be happy to hear from anyone with any question.

I’m 45 yrs old and pretty active though smoking has always been a tough nut for me to crack.  I did quit for 2 years at one point but since I had been on and off using nicotine lozenges to help out.  Any way, June of ’06 I

I'm sure it's possible that it's just an ovarian cyst...I've never had one to my knowledge, but understand they are relatively common and generally nothing to worry much over.  I trust my doctor and know he's very proactive, so if he was concerned, I know he would have ordered more tests.  I have a visit with him on Friday and will ask more questions about it so I can understand a bit better and ask a few more questions.

Regarding the removal of my ovary - my surgeon indicated that it is standard to remove the uterus, the ovaries, some pelvic lymph nodes and top portion of the vaginal wall

Thank you all for your kind responses.

I wanted to update a bit on my story - yesterday I had to have an ultrasound of my leg due to a painful lump that has formed on my calf.  I have also been having some intense abdominal pain and swelling in my lower right quadrant.  So, this morning, I had an abdominal/pelvic CT scan.  The ultrasound did not indicate any cause for concern (i.e. blood clots, masses, etc.) and I am hoping to know the results of the CT scan by the end of the day today.

I had a bit of a meltdown during and after the CT.   I have prided myself so much on being strong, but I

Hi everyone-

Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share my story.  I've been reluctant to post my story because I felt I could handle this on my own and just read other posts to help me cope.  I'm finding that I need more support though as I face the reality and magnitude of all of this.

I am a 32 year old, happily married mother of two boys ages 1 and 4.  I was diagnosed with bladder cancer on April 19 of this year.  I had my first TURB the following day.  Initially, my urologist thought I would be a candidate for BCG treatments, however when the pathology came back and it was

Hi. My name is Carol. I was diag. with bla.ca. 2003, invasive tumor removed. 13 BCG treatments, cancer returned Jan. 2006 while living with new partner in Southern CA. I returned to Northern CA to consult with my original urologist and after reviewing all data he strongly suggested that I have my bladder removed. I am 68, healthy and good spirit; we both agreed I could go through this surgery and come out with good changes for ridding myself of this cancer. He referred me to a doctor in Marin County, south of Sonoma County where I live. The guy really impressed me and said that he was going

It is now the end of March 2006 and I have been getting my chemo (gemzar and cisplatin) treatment since the beginning of February. The oncologist would like 16 sessions of chemo; however, my blood count - both white and red and now platelets - has caused postponement on at least 2 occasions. My oncologist gave me neupagen which worked very well to stimulate cell growth. But my platelets are very low - 35 but doubled to almost 70 last week which pleased the oncologist.

Hopefully, tomorrow, Wednesday, my blood count will be okay to have a 3 hour chemo session of the 2 drugs.

In 1998, my Dad Chester at age 71 was diagnosed with an elevated PSA level. The Urologist at Hackensack University Medical Center, which he was sent to for consultation, told him he was a prime candidate for prostate cancer. The recommendation was to receive Lupron injections and undergo radiation treatments. Additionally upon further recommendation, my Dad chose radiation seed implants to treat the spread of this cancer.

In July- August of this year, he began passing blood in his urine. He returned to the same Urologist who performed the seed implant for

I had a rare bladder tumor cancer. I don't know how to spell the name of the tumor.

In 1975 I had bladder cancer,I was 20 years old. They did a colon conduit. My doctors were wonderful. After 25 years I had two parastomal hernias and they did a Indiana Pouch which I love. The freedom is great.I still have trouble with leaking but I am hoping to fine out why this is still going on after a year.

Minimal Invasive Surgery, neobladder contruction, erectile nerve sparing.. Stage 2B/3A Grade IV Muscle invasive cancer..2.5 years later.

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Roger Barton and I live in Orlando, Florida. I was just a normal guy trying to make a decent living, living my life in peace, and trying to have a happy and healthy existence. Life was just getting back to normal, after spending the holidays with family and friends. The year 2002 had just started, and I, like many other people, was optimistic that 2002 was going to be another exciting and wonderful year. The
