Hi, please excuse what I can only describe as catharsis.

A Short History: 1999, I passed blood in my urine, went to hosptial, and had a urogram that revealled a poorly functioning right kindey (as I recall). I was diagnosed as having a kidney stone that had broken up in/near the kidney. Despite weeing through a sieve for a week I saw no stone (fragments). Followup urogram revealled a well functioning kidney. At no point do I remember the Urologist looking at my bladder.

In February 2010, following ambulatory monitoring for hypertension, I was referred by my Cardiologist for a urinary tract

I'm a 47-year old female (non-smoker) who was diagnosed with bladder cancer in March 2010.  My pathology showed high grade papillary urothelial carcinoma with superficial invasion into the lamina propria.  I've gotten 3 opinions and my options are BCG therapy or cystectomy (neobladder).  I'm afraid to do the BCG therapy because of the the low cure rate and high return rate.  I know the cystectomy has a higher cure rate, but has a high rate of complications.  Does anyone have any advice for me?  I have 2 teenagers that need their

After two years of occasional haematuria (my doctor and I thought it was just bladder infections)  I finally insisted on an ultrasound.   Three tumours - one large and two small were discovered.   It was non-invasive  papillary urothelial carcinoma.  I was not expecting this.  After all, I don't fit the usual profile for bladder cancer ( I'm a 56 year old non-smoking female).

I had a transurethral resection  in Canada almost three months ago but have since moved to Mexico where I will need to continue treatment.  My doctor here will be doing another cystoscopy in about three weeks

Hello everyone - My mom who's 48 yrs. old was diagnosed with Urinary Bladder Cancer last Friday. We found out that the tumors have invaded the bladder wall and was told by our urologist that my mom's bladder will have to be removed. Since then she has been referred by our Urologist to another Urologist in UCLA who specializes in performing Neobladder surgery. After speaking with this specialist, my mother was give 2 options: 1) to perform chemo and radiation therapy, since the tumors were all contained in the bladder, and try to shrink the tumors to a size where it's possible to be removed.

I am a 53 year old female. Very healthy and very fit. I was diagnosed with upper tract bladder cancer in late March 2007 and had a nephrouterectomy a few weeks later in mid-April 2007. The kidney mass was 6 cm, Grade III, with some spread into the adjacent uterter. I was "all-clear" until my one year check-up, when "spots" were discovered in my bladder. Since then I have had an office visit procedure at 15 months with a cysto/fulgration/electrocautery with two small tumors removed, and an outpatient surgery at 18 months with a cysto/fulgration/laser with two more apparently larger tumors

Well, since last I posted to this part of the forum, a lot has happened, actually --less to do with my treatment (though there is news there, too) than with reasons to live "beyond expectations."

I do have an appointment set up with a metastatic bladder cancer specialist at MD Anderson for March. In the mean time, I'm trying to get caught up with non-cancer medical issues, teeth, blood pressure, etc. I continue to feel well, generally,
but it is hard not to panic everytime I have what could be just a little "normal" ailment. For example, I felt "bone tired" yesterday morning and was afraid I'd

Well we are doing Ok
We have all had awful colds and I nearly ended up in hospital with a chest infection but things are slowly getting better.
Weight continues to be an issue and I must try to put some on,other issues are tiredness and loss of feeling in my fingers and feet.Typing takes forever hence very short messages.I have had a few crisis lately one caused by friends and family having babies I would have so loved another child and feel so sad that the option has been taken away from me. I had a truely awful leak issue yesterday we went shopping and I must have caught my bag leaning over

I can only say that I wish I had found this site around 6/22/06.  It’s wonderful to hear the stories of others and read through the forum links.  BC is not well known so when I found out, I truly felt alone.  Since everyone has their own tale and no two are alike, I thought I’d share mine with you.  If it deems posting, I’d be happy to hear from anyone with any question.

I’m 45 yrs old and pretty active though smoking has always been a tough nut for me to crack.  I did quit for 2 years at one point but since I had been on and off using nicotine lozenges to help out.  Any way, June of ’06 I

I found out I had grade 4, stage 3 bladder cancer 6 weeks ago. All the urologists wanted to remove the bladder, prostrate, etc. I am a fairly young man (58), and I was not content with that path of treatment. Something in my gut gold me there must be a better way. I got a second opinion from one of the leading universities (UCSF). This was not easy because the insurance company didn’t really want to pay for it. I found out that the new trend, if at all possible, is to preserve the organ, though only the oncologist are the ones who seem to truly believe in this.

Here is some advice I would give

Hello
I was just wondering if there is anyone out there in the same position as me... I had a complete cystectomy aged 6 months and had USM done, then redone when I was 3 yrs old. I had chemotherapy but not radiotherapy.
I have never had a problem with malignancies and am about 90% continent. I have had a partial nephrectomy though (aged 12), kidney stones, and have lost count of the number of UTI's I've had. Usually hospitalised annually due to pylenophritis but overall kidney function is pretty good considering.
Anyway, my main worry is this threat of colo-rectal cancer. I'm having the
