Chemotherapy Notes

Posted by: New2This in mens issues on Print PDF

The fatigue is setting in. Each day since the chemo has become a little worse. Luckily, still no nausea and the burping has about stopped (think it must have been from the Emend.) I'm anxious to see how his blood work will be on Thursday.

hi - my husband just had his 5th chemo treatment this past monday.  he had cisplatin and gemzar on day 1, gemzar day 8 and 15, day 22 off, cisplatin and gemzar day 29, and gemzar day 36.  that's where we are right now.  the first cis-gem treatment his stomach hurt and he was queasy.  it was on a monday.  by friday he was down for the count.  stayed in friday through monday nite.  went back to work tuesday morning.  was fine until the second cisplatin/gemzar on day 29.  stayed home all week.  didn't go back to work till after day 36 which was a monday.  went back to work the next day.  more tired this second cycle.  i wonder if you're experiencing the same thing.  all i can say is this whole thing SUCKS!!!!!  eileen, mike g's wife.

on more thing - my husband still hasn't lost any hair after 2 cis/gem treatments and 3 gem treatments.  is everyone else losing their hair?  i hope he doesn't lost his - it's just one more thing when you look in the mirror - it reminds you yet again that you have cancer.  also, so far his bloodwork is all within normal range.  hope that keeps up.  eileen, mike g's wife
