T2

Now September 2006. No recurrence of tumour. 62 this week and just starting a new business involving lots of international travel.

The only real problem remaining from the radiotherapy is the effect on our sex life although Cialis helps quite a lot there.  :o

So far I am really pleased that I didn't follow the initial recommendations for bladder removal. Let's hope it remains so.

Awesome David, thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad the radiotherapy seems to be working.

David,

My jaw dropped open when reading you had 40 TURB's and that even the "persistent littlie tumors" were also diagnosed as T1.  Please clarify, all the tumors that appeared were surgically removed through TURB and sent to pathology or were some of those 40 treatments just fulgurated (burnt out)?  I am either learning something new or receiving the wrong information as there seems to be contradiction as to what I have researched.  So glad to hear, however, that your chemo radiation showed you to be clear. I have heard from many radiologists how they remove bladder tumors by radiation, and oncologists how they removed bladder tumors by chemo.  Urologists (surgeons) mostly remove tumors by surgery or cauterizing.  It seems the strong trend for most bladder cancer patients treatment  has been with urologists.  I wonder what the stats are with treatment from radiologists, oncologists etc.  Interesting.
