Bladder Cancer, Invasive, High Grade

Bladder Cancer, Invasive, High Grade

My dad just told us he has bladder cancer. It is invasive & high grade, and is inside the wall of his bladder. Doctors say only option now, (he’s almost 80) is radical cysectomy, then later possible chemo. or radiation. He is scared…Can’t decide, but needs to. Doctors say only a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery. (Had quadruple heart bypass a few years ago). He has lost 25 pounds & looks weak. Goes back & forth between surgery & doing nothing! Urologist says he can’t have the “inside bag” due to the length of surgery vs. “outside bag”…He is so emotional & scared. Please email us or call.

Surgery scheduled now for June 16, 2004…Thanks for all of your emails & prayers. Deb (Jack’s daughter)
