My mother was diagnosed with what they think is T2 level bladder cancer, invasive.
Hi all,
12/20/05
I am new to this site and have been touched by all of your stories. My mother was diagnosed last Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 with bladder cancer after her biopsy and tumor removal surgery. (forgot the name, just getting use to all the vernacular)
We were very hopeful but found out it was invasive; however appears to be effecting the bladder only (they think its a T2 level). We have been referred to a Dr. at Stanford whom we meet with this Thursday. We are looking for other specialists in this field, esp from a Comprehensive Cancer Center if possible. We were told that it looks like bladder removal is the only option.
My mom is getting a new computer soon and looks forward to sharing her story and hearing from others affected with the same disease.
We have learned quite a bit since hearing of this through online research, but are sad to hear that no foundation is affiliated with this cancer and so little awareness.
Anyway.. we would really love to hear from you if you care to share, offer suggestions, insight, anything.
My mom and I are fighters and I know she can beat this thing, we just want all the info we can get to help. She is only 56 yrs old, so its taken us by quite a surprise.
Thanks for reading and sharing.
Best to you all,
Tanya
