Superficial low grade (T0, grade 1)

September, 2004
Noticed small spot of pink on underewar. Started paying attention to urine. Color is darker though not pink or red. Checked Web MD. Suspected UTI or bladder stone. Not worried.
9/21, 2004
Passed blood clots. Worried. Reported to family doctor. Dr. B wasted no time in ordering CT scans and x-rays of lower abdomen.
9/23/2004
Dr. B called with “good news”. All major organs normal. Nothing life threatening. Spirits lifted. Dr. B refers me to urologist.
9/29/2004
Dr. H examined urine sample under microscope. Red blood cells present. No white blood cells. Suspects either prostate enlargement or bladder polyps. Worried again.
10/11/2004
Dr. H performs cystoscopy exam. Polyp immediately visible on monitor. Dr. H says bladder polyps 90% cancerous. Very worried. Read everything on-line. Found Bladder Cancer Web Cafe.
10/21/2004
Out patient surgery to remove tumor. Dr. H also took tissue samples from bladder walls. No serious discomfort afterwards.
11/8/2004
Pathology diagnosis:
T0, grade 1. Papillary and micropapillary urothelial carcinoma, low grade. No treatment required. But 50% chance for recurrence. Check up in 3 months. Not looking forward to cystoscopy exam.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THERE ARE NO TREATMENTS TO REDUCE CHANCES OF RECURRENCE? There are treatments for more serious cancers. But nothing for T0, grade 1. Please send me an e-mail.
